it’s so easy to fall into patterns, out again and then back into them. i get so close to fortifying motivation that it’s shocking how the fall back comes, not even any openly suggested cause, except for the chit chat going on behind the curtain of my eyes beyond recognition but for my sub-conscious reading into old habits and scars, dropping into that which lay behind them in the layers and sunken grooves like old vinyl. the times that create the most challenge are quite regularly after a string of days or a week when i only practice a couple of times, practice yoga that is. yoga has been an integral part of my life for quite some time now and over the passed few years it has become pretty much my entire life~ and i am glad for it. just being in class is an inspiration in itself, getting there is the same as getting started….

About fAction
“We are a collective of fashion designers and artists who channel their passion for community activism and outreach by presenting fashion performances, including music, dance, and performance art. We bridge gaps between the activist community and the fashion community, as well as connecting individuals with more information about local to global justice. We partner with organizations like Darfur Peace and Development, Pride at Work, and other non-profits focused on supporting women’s rights around the world.”
About the Event
This event will feature fashion performances by 6 different local independent designers, each piece including different choreography, music, “models” and fashion designs. We stay away from traditional runway shows, instead creating a performance you can’t take your eyes off of. We will be collaborating with several other local organizations, including members of La Pocha Nostra. This upcoming event will raise funds and awareness for women and children affected by the violence and femicide rampant in border towns like Ciudad Juarez. All proceeds would benefit the cause.
