not so direct

its often that someone says

“you don’t know what you have until you lose it”

its often that i have said that to others, to myself-

my uncle, my grandfather … those were so DIRECT

admittedly easy and limiting, but easy to comprehend in the longrun…

but now mom. she just takes the cake.

all i can say is that i’ll never know all the things that make up that statement, there is no way…

i didn’t even know / all of this time… that hidden inspiration, that which i hid so well for so long that I didn’t even remember where it came from, couldn’t remember what it was anymore… MOM it was YOU!

i had no idea what devotion even meant
