Dear Loyal Readers~

Somehow it’s been an entire month plus since I have posted anything here. All I can really say about that is that there is A LOT going on and I am barely making any sense of it. Been making a lot of personal decisions, confronted with nostalgia, pushing forward making more changes shedding the leftover skin of bad habits all whilst having no clear view of what’s to come next… A bunch of things all stacked up to do… but no clear sense outside of the things to be done. Every once in a while I have to stop and turn up a song. …

Contemplations from a rooftop…

Looking back in momentary lapse is refreshing now, even if the tears still come, everything is truly mixed up now. A large pot everything swirling around no telling what comes up to greet you, it’s all there so it’s all possible. I’m hoping that someday i’ll be able to explain clearly, but for now I just keep working… So much on the horizon, so much has gone by- finding gratitude and true forgiveness is a long sweet road often taken for granted.

At this point I am honestly bending over backwards for a project… here is some proof….

Extension : Retraction : Reflection :  Expansion

The more things that have to get done, the more times I long to reflect. While knowing reflection on the past has not always proven to be beneficial. So, for now, I have short talks and that’s it. I’m avoiding a lot of really old habits in order to move forward. These habits include making some pretty drastic decisions- things that go against all that I have “known” to be real- many years of subconscious sculpting- revolting against things that compounded over time in order to see. The trajectory of this is unforeseen, I am doing things that I have never imagined- before you get all excited by that comment I’d like to let you know that “dreaming big” has never been part of my repertoire- so doing some things outside of what is the “norm” is sorta easy in a sense. My only “thing” is that I keep making art. What that “means” I have no idea- all I do know is right now I am fighting being over extended while at the same time collecting energy in order to do MORE but, more of the “right” stuff… sorting it out, taking it in, moving it out. With all this motion, it’s only natural that in the spinning there are “fly by” emotional memories. These moments can be deafening… but also serve as reminders of the impermanence. Each and every one of these moments hold an emotional charge- this is the link to the past, that’s it. This is how we link to our dreams- the subconscious… this is why I never consciously “dreamed”, it never made sense to me, it seemed that something was supposed to happen naturally… so I just kept learning my “craft” living “my” life with the expectation that someday, some spark would ignite… not realizing that I was simultaneously building the flame and putting it out at the same time by not understanding my own personal needs/ambitions and ignoring my self worth. This always comes into question… it’s engrained- a seriously bad habit… surprisingly though, the more I do the less time I have to entertain these things.

Some days just grow into the next. I mean, sure, there is sleep in between and everything that makes one day sort of differ from the next, sometimes even restful sleep. I keep having these moments of profound introspection and deliberation that gets drowned out by all this other stuff and everything moves on. Often times, without a foundation to stand on. I know that I have, in a sense, been radically lucky- but there is always a sense of impermanence that peppers each moment… and that is generally supported by the exact opposite- within seconds. Each time. Therefore for each varied existence – there is an opposite, a yin or yang, black to white while so so so many things happen in between that get overlooked, forgotten or taken for granted. Which do you remember? The one with the strongest feeling attached. Used to seeing the fleeting- the fleeting it shall be… but in between there is overlooked foundation …

… otherwise we wouldn’t be able to exist. Emotions taking hold and “seeing” changes. Since I am so ‘hyper mobile’ in so many different situations I have really had to change some habits in order to take in this idea fully- It supports emotional flow for me to understand just how impermanent each thing is individually- that navigating these is like creating your own tetris game of life that never ends- around – around – can be some sick game but when you become aware of it- it can be some valuable tool. That this information is the connection between ‘tool’ to ‘object’ or what have you… similar to watching reactions. That this impermanence thrives on the energy exchange… That this is so out of my explainable abilities right now… That super analyzing is much easier than actually doing anything- which in turn adds to the configuration of the reaction. Mixing all that up with what we think is happening around us and viola! Misconfigured impermanence. But in knowing that even impermanence has variables, we know we have the power to derail the freight train all on our own. But the question, previously unstated- remains- will we be able to find the strength to meet that challenge? What ever it is…. At whatever time… within whatever moment…

Just in case you havn’t clicked onto the blog in a while, i have made some changes… I have also started another site in order to devote to my Mixed Media work called ‘Mixed Media by Faern‘ I will be posting most mixed media related posts and images over there but will ever so often on here as well. The Clean Socks Project Needs your help!

If you don’t mind taking a second to look at our Kickstarter campaign, quite a few people would be quite indebted to you. The Clean Socks team is a group of people that have come together to record a documentary, to take into account some information that has no written history and represent it through a full length film with supporting photographs. The subject? Mongolian Contortion. The timing? NOW. We are a passionate group of artists that have already devoted a lot of time and energy into this project and in order to show this subject to the greatest extent and gather the most accurate information and photographs- we must go to Mongolia THIS year for Naadam festival. We already have our tickets, we are all scrimping and saving to pay for our personal provisions but essentially we need to get some equipment, hire crew and pay for certain photographic things in Mongolia and that is where the Kickstarter and YOU come in…

The past few weeks have been in the least a whirlwind, but it’s not like anything HUGE is happening right now, but damn there sure are a lot of little things, good and bad, per usual. Each day i am choosing to do new things. My yoga practice is coming along – when I’m consistent especially, which is my aim. I know (some of my friends just groaned because i am pretty darn consistent) but there is still a certain disconnect between practice and going to class…

You may or may not know this, but i am in the process of moving my art studio.I have been walking my things from one studio to the other, around the corner and around the block – or something- anyhow, that’s what I’ve been doing- back and forth…It has been interesting I tell you what. Today I got some adjustable saw horses to have a better work table, I am certainly excited by this- I did get a ride though to get them, and there is already a door for me to use as a table top. I am so excited!

Last weekend I did Spring Open Studios over at the new place and it sure was a great time! Thanks to everyone for making me feel at home! So I didn’t start moving actual work stuff in till like yesterday… with just a little bit left in the month t get out of the other place… oh well!  I am already so much happier I can’t even contain it.
